The Secret to More Profit, More Time, and More Control for Contractors
Dear Fellow Business Owner,
Ten years ago, two longtime friends decided to start new contracting businesses on opposite ends of Chicago. They were very much alike intelligent, personable, and both believed passionately in the tremendous potential that their new businesses held.
As their companies grew, daily operations took more and more of their time, and their friendship fell by the wayside.
Recently, on a windy winter's evening they bumped into each other in a downtown restaurant. They were still very much alike. Both were happily married. Both had three children. And both were still running their contracting businesses.
There was one main difference. One of the men was headed back to his office to crunch numbers and squeeze the company bank account for payroll. The other was headed to Hawaii for a month- long family vacation while his business hummed along without him.
What Made the Difference?
I'm Nels Flatebo, and I lived this scenario. If there is anything I have learned over the years, it is that innate intelligence, talent or dedication isn't what makes the difference. It isn't that one person wants success and the other doesn't. The difference lies in what each person knows, how effectively he or she uses that knowledge, and how consistently the successful actions are repeated.
